How exactly do I get Level2 Options with Fidelity? (Scottrade, brokerage, options trading) - Investing -stocks, bonds, mutual funds, trading, market, brokers - City-Data Forum

My broker Scottrade , which I was really happy with previously, has denied me the right to buy options. I am so mad I could spit. I guess they think that I am too stupid to know the risk I am taking.

I'm relatively new to investing but doubled my money last year. This year hasn't gone as well but I'm hanging in there. I would like to hear from y'all as to what brokers don't make it difficult to buy options so I can switch brokers.

And they would need to have a low minimum to open an account. I am not an advocate of many option strategies, but the tools that are on the Ameritrade account at least appear to work well and they are cheap I use Interactive Brokers who are real good for options trading, since trading options is where I make my best money. But many people I know use Ameritrade and they seem to like it with no problems. I think they have a low minimum to open an account also. Originally Posted by redbean.

Yeah, I figured out it depends on how much you have in the account.

Options are interesting, lol But they are very high risk. And that should only be a small part of your overall investment money.
